Chris Langert is a distinguished veteran with 27 years of service as a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). His journey in law enforcement began in 1998 after serving six years as a Military Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Army. Throughout his career, Chris has gained expertise in a wide range of investigative areas, including white-collar fraud, intellectual property theft, domestic and international terrorism, violent crimes, fugitive apprehension, surveillance, and crimes against children.

Chris is also highly skilled in hostage negotiations and crisis communications, having served as an FBI Crisis Negotiator for over 24 years, including more than a decade as a Crisis Negotiation Team Leader. His contributions have earned him numerous awards and commendations from prestigious organizations such as the FBI, the United States Attorney’s Office, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

In March 2025, Chris retired from the FBI and transitioned to a role as a private detective. Operating under MN License #2441 (bonded and insured), he specializes in civil and criminal investigations, witness interviews, case reviews and analysis, surveillance, social media assessments, and evidence examination.

Chris has appeared in several television news features and was prominently showcased in the documentary film “Better This World.” He brings a wealth of experience working with individuals from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds, often in the most demanding and complex situations.
